Obituary

Esaura M. Ferreira, 85, of Fall River, wife of the late Manuel A. Ferreira, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in the comforts of her home following a long illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Patricio and the late Maria (Medeiros) Patricio.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, and her annual travel to the Azores. A devout Catholic and member of the Charismatic Society, Esaura faithfully attended Mass and prayed the rosary daily.

She leaves her loving children, Margaret Ferreira of Fall River and Steve Ferreira (wife- Anne) of Oklahoma; her four grandchildren, Christopher Ferreira (wife-Angie) of California, Maria Wire (husband-Tim) of Texas, Elizabeth and Joseph Ferreira both of Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Marinka, Izabella, Abigail, Mackenzie, Jake, Evelyn, and Gabriel; her four great-great-grandchildren, Marybell, A.J., Luis, Jr., and Kacen; her siblings, Isabel Teixeira and Gil Teixeira both of Fall River, Joseph Valerio of Canada, and Manuel Patricio of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Isabel Ferreira, great-grandmother of the late Luis Barragan, and sister of the late Alda Patricio, Jessie Patricio, and Gabriel Patricio.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 13th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Esaura's memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
