Esmeralda
Dacosta
d. Nov 6, 2021
Esmeralda daCosta, October 11, 1919 – November 6, 2021. After 102 years of a devout and faithful life to my savior, Jesus Christ, I am at peace. I am excited to be reunited with the love of my life, my husband Julio.
I was born in Bocado, Arganil, Portugal to Jaime and Aurora (Nunes) Morais. I am looking forward to seeing my sisters Filomena daCosta and Herminia Gomes again. I emigrated to the United States in 1964 and lived the American dream! I worked many years for MG Sportswear as a seamstress. I loved to crotchet, cook, bake, and garden.
I know I will be missed terribly by my family especially my daughter, Graça and her husband Bernardino Mouronho. I was blessed to have two wonderful granddaughters, Nancy Bergeron and Michele Frenette, four great grandchildren Amber Bergeron, Troy Bergeron Jr., Andrew Frenette and Matthew Frenette and a vivacious great, great granddaughter Noella Blandino, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Thank you, to all my friends and family, for all you did for me. To my nephew Jose daCosta and his wife Fatima, I will miss your weekly visits. A special thank you to my darling daughter Graça and granddaughter Nancy, whom I adored, for caring for me, it never went unnoticed. I know at times, I gave you both a run for your money, but I did, and always will, love you. Don't cry because I'm gone, instead have a glass of Portuguese wine and be happy you knew me.
Relatives and Friends were invited to attend my Calling Hours which were held at Silva-Faria's Fall River Chapel on Friday, November 12th. My Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, November 13th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by my committal at St. Patrick Cemetery, in Fall River.
Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. If you were unable to do so, because of this pandemic or any other reason, all are urged to express their sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach my family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website ( www.silvafaria.com ) and not through a third party. Thank you!
