Etelvina C. Martins, 86, of Fall River, wife of the late Antonio Martins, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, October 28, 2019. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Maria Rita Cunha. Prior to her retirement she was a machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. A devout Catholic, she was steadfast in praying the rosary and attending Mass regularly. Etelvina also enjoyed her daily walks and, in her younger years, gardening. But what was most important to her was spending quality time with her loving family. She leaves: her children, Aurora Viegas and her husand, Jose, Rose Miranda, Fatima Melo and her husand, Idelfonso, Pam Horan and her husband, Edward, Adelaide Farias and her husband, Louie, and Jose C. Martins and his wife, Mary, all of Fall River, Fern Camara and her husband, Michael, of Westport, and Gabriel C. Martins and his wife, Anabella, of North Dartmouth; a sister, Palmira Viegas ( late husband, Setetino) of Portugal; nineteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, October 31st, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
