Ethel Mary Benevides, 62, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on March 22,2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for her family and community.

Ethel was the beloved daughter of the late Bento M. Benevides Sr. and Ethel M. Benevides. She was a devoted sister to Bento M. Benevides Jr. and his wife Karen Benevides. She was a proud and loving aunt to Amy Benevides (Christopher Gauthier), Ashlee Benevides (Dave Pelletier) and Bethany Vieira (Shawn Vieira), and a cherished great-aunt to Alyssa, Kylie, Trent, Owen and Luka.

Ethel earned her GED from B.M.C. Durfee High School. She was an active member of her community, including her involvement with the Liberal Club.

Throughout her life, Ethel dedicated herself to serving others. She worked as a bus monitor with Tremblay Bus Company, contributed to the FRPS lunch program, and served her community as a voting poll worker. In her free time, Ethel enjoyed crafting and especially loved working on puzzles, which brought her great joy and relaxation. She was also a devoted fan of Shaun Cassidy, a passion that brought her happiness over the years.

Ethel will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her dedication to her community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 9:00 AM from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:00 AM. Her visitation will also take place on Saturday morning, May 30, 2026, in the Silva-Faria Funeral Home from 8:00-9:30 AM. Committal and Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
