Eunice Matthews, 91, of Fall River, wife of the late Joseph Matthews, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Catholic Memorial Home following a brief illness.

Born and raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late John Botelho and the late Mary (Silvia) Botelho.

She retired from Rochelle Apparel where she worked as sewing machine operator for many years and was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Union (now Unite).

A devout Catholic, she was a long-time parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She loved crocheting, dancing, and bingo. Eunice also enjoyed her daily walks and her trip to visit friends in Texas.

She leaves: her nephew, Bob Matthews; her cousin, Thomas R. Vital; and dear friends, Eileen and Albert Afonso. She was also the sister of the late Geraldine Botelho.

Due to the COVID pandemic, her private funeral took place on Thursday, December 10th, with Her Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
