Obituary

Eva (Freitas) Moody, 90, of Fall River, wife of the late Elmer Moody, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020.

Eva was born in Fall River and was a daughter of the late Frank and Antonina (Rapoza) Freitas.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a sewing machine operator at Shelburn Shirt Company on Alden Street for many years and was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Fall River. After retiring from the garment industry, she worked as a bus monitor and then as a school lunch lady right up until the age of 86. She was well known for playing "crazy 8's" with her family and at the Niagara Senior Center. She also was a member of Functional Fitness's "Jazzercise" class and enjoyed her trips to the casinos where she would play the slot machines.

She leaves: her children, Colleen Levesque and her husband, Raymond, of North Carolina, and Dale Moody and his wife, Pauline, of Fall River; five grandchildren,  Brendan Oliveira and his wife, Kathryn, of Fall River, Adam Oliveira and Eric Oliveira, both of North Carolina, Christy Oliveira of Fall River, and Meredith Kingman and her husband, Timothy, of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank Freitas, Elsie Carrita, and Lydia Perrault.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 15th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
