Evelyn
Hubert
d. Jun 25, 2026
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Evelyn Hubert, age 98, who passed on to the Lord Thursday, June 25, 2026, at home. She was surrounded by her family whom she loved so much. Evelyn was a life-long resident of Fall River.
She was the wife of the late Eugene Hubert for 56 years, whom she deeply loved. She is survived by seven sons: Paul (late wife Gail), Michael (Debra), Russell (Michelle), William (Donna), Thomas (Gail), Joseph and David (Robin) and eight daughters: Carol Barboza (Richard), Susanne Sirois (Donald), Janice Teixeira (late William), Jo-Anne Menard (Daniel) of Swansea, MA, Sr Catherine Therese V.H.M of Tyringham, MA, Anne Marie Cadavid (Joseph), Laurie Chaves (Celio) of Dunnellon, FL, and Jeanne Marie. She also leaves a sister, Rita Jean (late Roger) of Tampa, FL. She is survived by 47 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Eugene and Steven and one daughter, Marie Pedro (late Antonio), her parents, Antone and Mary Jo (Souza) Furtado, along with siblings Manuel, Antone (late Rita), Edward (Althea) and Agnes Correia (late Louis).
Evelyn was a daily communicant and a fan of EWTN, especially when she was no longer able to attend mass. Evelyn loved to cook for her large family and was the true meaning of the word Matriarch. Her “Lemon Delight” was her most requested dessert along with her triple coconut cake (Annie) and her fudgy brownies (Janice). We delighted in her jelly-bean count every Easter where we would have to guess how many were in the jars and she never missed sending a birthday card to each one of us. She also enjoyed sewing, reading and doing word search. Her faith was everything to her and she instilled that into all who came into her presence. Rain or shine, blizzard conditions or heatwave her only request was McDonald’s coffee.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, July 1st, at Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery both in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to EWTN or St Judes Research Children’s Hospital, which was so dear to Evelyn’s heart.
To ensure that the family receives all online condolences you may wish to share, please submit only to the funeral home’s website [ www.silvafaria.com at "Sign Guestbook" or "Send Sympathy Card"] and not through a third party. Thank you!
