Obituary

Everyone's favorite "troublemaker," Everett S. Farias, 86, of Fall River, husband of Maria da Conceicao (Bonifacio Pacheco) Farias, was called to our heavenly father's loving arms on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. He is sure to make trouble with the Angels in heaven, keeping them all on their toes. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Joao de Sousa Farias and the late Idalina Pacheco Viveiros, he emigrated to Fall River in 1963.

He had worked in the construction business for many years, employed with Delucca Fence Co., a member of the Laborer's International Union Local #610, then in the lumber business at P. D. Humphrey's, DBS, and AC. Everett was also a member of the Espirito Santo Church Holy Name Society.

A kind man who would stop and help anyone in trouble, Everett loved fishing, being outdoors, playing practical jokes, and a good belly laugh. Most of all, he loved his family and friends – and the special bond he had with children (whom he lovingly called his "cara feias") was second to none. Everett's strong love for God and sharing stories about all the miracles that he experienced in his lifetime were among his defining characters.

Besides his wife, of 57 years, he is survived by: four children, Ana Constantino (longtime companion Rodney Jeffries, late husband Eugene) of Fall River, Lina Moniz (husband Marco) of Somerset, Henry Farias of Fall River, and Lily Dragon (late husband Adam) of Dartmouth; former daughter-in-law, Cheryl Amaral Farias; three siblings, Aires Farias of Fall River, Aida Correia of Westport, and Maria Cestodio of Fall River; ten grandchildren, Glen, Brianna, Martina, Marcus Jordan, Hyde, Christian, Halle, Caleb, Ava, and Savannah; and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Auracelia Sousa, Henrique Farias, Alice Borba, Laurinda Amorin, and Herman Farias.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, April 21st, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
