Obituary

Ezabell Markland, 98, of Somerset, wife of the late Harvell Markland, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Saleem and the late Manura (George Rouks) Saleem.

Prior to her retirement, she was a cook for a local day care center for many years. She loved cooking, knitting, the beach, and trips to the casino. She enjoyed traveling to such places as Lebanon, Rome, Florida, and Arizona. Most notably, Ezabell was a devout Catholic, faithfully attended Mass, and was truly grateful for the blessing of family.

She leaves her loving children, Barbara Desrosiers of Somerset, Michael Markland and his wife, Karen, of Somerset, George Markland and his wife, Eileen, of Tiverton, and Patricia Markland-Kopet and her husband, David Kopet, of Arizona; her six grandchildren, Mary-Ann Malson, Paula Semonelli, Michael Markland, Kathie Bernier, Laurie Lund, and Christine Langton; five great-grandchildren, Jake, John Paul, Julien, Joseph, and Elizabeth; her two great-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Connor; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, John Markland, her grandson, Timothy Markland, and all of her three sisters.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 11th, at St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery both in Fall River.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. If you were unable to do so, because of health concerns or any other reason, all are urged to express their sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach the family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website (www.silvafaria.com) and not through a third party. Thank you!
