Felisberto M.
Sousa
d. Sep 6, 2024
Felisberto M. Sousa, 77, of Fall River, husband of Maria Fatima (Fagundo) Sousa, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Calhetas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Luis Sousa and the late Felisberta Medeiros Barbosa.
Prior to his passing, he was part owner, along with his brother-in-law, Victor Fagundo (late wife, Isabel), and his niece, Alice Fagundo, of O'Gil's Restaurant and Bar which was established in 1991. An avid Benfica fan, he also loved working at the restaurant, relaxing in his backyard, and traveling back to his homeland in the Azores to visit family. He was a naturally social man, always the "life of the party" and always ready to deliver his endless supply of witty remarks. He left a positive and lasting impression with everyone he met during his lifetime and he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Most notably, Felisberto was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who very much enjoyed spending quality time with all of his family.
Besides his loving wife of fifty-three years, he leaves his three sons, Peter Sousa, Daniel Sousa and his wife, Jennifer, both of Fall River, and Andrew Sousa and his wife, Emily, of New Jersey; his five grandchildren, Hannah Sousa, Nicholas Sousa, Payton Sousa, Benjamin Sousa, and Adrien Sousa; siblings, Elzera Brum (late husband, Humberto), Dolores Tavares (late husband, Jose Manuel), both of Canada, Judite Amorin (late husband, Jose), Fatima Sousa, Carlos Sousa (wife, Margarida), Antonio Sousa, all of the Azores, and Helena Rego of England; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Luis Sousa.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, September 14th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
