Fernand "Bells" Coulombe, 85, of Fall River, formerly of Westport, passed away on Monday at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Rapoza) Coulombe. Born in Fall River, son of the late Cleophas and Celestine (Gendron) Coulombe. A WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy, he worked in electrical construction for New England Gas and Electric Association and Commonwealth Electric. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Bells greatly enjoyed outdoor activities and dancing. His family believes he has joined his wife on the dance floor. Survivors include his beloved children, Michele "Shelley" Fleming (husband - Patrick Fleming) of Fall River and Michael J. Coulombe (wife - Caryn Hodges Coulombe) of Mattapoisett; grandchildren, Kyle, Jenna, Bryan and Jessie; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Ernest Boulds and his family. He was also brother of the late Mary Anne Desforges, Annette Clement, Aurore Lague,and Josephine, Raymond, Joseph, Romeo and Aime Coulombe. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, September 10, in St. George Church, Westport followed by his committal with military honors at Beech Grove Cemetery.
