Fernanda J. Lopes, 86, of Fall River, widow of Altino Lopes, died Thursday 9/16/10 at home. Born in St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Antonio & Emilia (Santos) Botelho, she emigrated to Fall River in 1975. She was employed in the local textile industry, retiring in 1990. Survivors include: children, Antonio & Marta Lopes, Auxiliadora Lima & Lucia Achou all of Fall River, Fernando Lopes of Bristol, RI, Fatima Jesus & Ana Almeida both of Somerset, and Rui Lopes of Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was also: mother of the late Carlos Lopes; grandmother of the late Michael Lopes; and sister of the late Maria Pereira, Manuel Botelho & Belmira Simoes. Her Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, September 18, in Santo Christo Church. A committal service followed at St. Patrick Cemetery.
