Fernanda Pimentel, 91, formerly of Flint St, Fall River, widow of Jacinto "Pinheiro" Pimentel, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center. Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Joao & Maria dos Anjos (Tavares) Pimentel, she emigrated to Fall River in 1966.

She worked at the former Shelburne Shirt, retiring in 1991, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) now UNITE. She enjoyed cooking, but her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are: two sons, Carlos Pimentel (wife Maria N.) of Fall River and Antonio Pimentel (fiancée Lynn) of Tiverton; three sisters, Ana Tavares & Carminha Medeiros both of Fall River, and Natalia Turner of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lopes of Swansea, Cheryl Pimentel-Carreiro of Westport and Kevin Pimentel of Fall River; 4 great grandchildren, Ethan, Jillian, Nolan, and Mason; many nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late Hilda Mendonca, Carlos Santos, Irondina Cassiano, and Conceicao Sousa.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 27th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
