Fernando Carreiro, 55, of Fall River, passed away after a two year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Fatima Carreiro, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. Born in Porto Formoso, St. Miguel, Azores, he was a son of Manuel Moniz Carreiro, of Fall River and the late Maria (Furtado) Carreiro. Fernando was a very detailed finish carpenter. He was so detailed in his work, and so meticulous he even completed the finishing of his children's home despite his sickness. His passion for the arts and woods continued to the day of his passing. Besides his wife, Fatima, he is survived by his daughter Monica and her husband Flavio Botelho of Fall River his sons; Rui Carreiro and his wife Claudia of Fall River; Angelo Carreiro of Fall River; and Rafael Carreiro of Fall River; his grandchildren; Juliana Lurdes and Jayden Miguel Botelho; and Nathan Carreiro; his sisters; Margarida Teixeira of Fall River, Paulina and Manuel Silva of Fall River, Madalina and Joel Martins of Fall River, and his brother Viriato and Maria Carreiro of Somerset. He also leaves behind 9 nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, November 9th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
