Fernando B. Ferreira, 84, of Tiverton, husband of Maria Catarina (Correiro) Ferreira, died Friday 9/7/12 at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, RI, after a long illness. Born in Lomba do Carro, Povoacao, St. Michael, Azores, he emigrated to Fall River in 1960, and resided in Tiverton for the past 23 years. He worked as a weaver for many years at various mills in the local textile industry, then worked for about 10 years as a machinist with the former Gloucester Engineering, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Health Church. Besides his wife, of 62 years, he leaves: 3 children, Jose Ferreira (wife Helena) of Fall River, and Veneranda "Verne" Miozza (husband Richard) & John Ferreira (wife Urania) both of Tiverton; 2 siblings, Maria Jose Silva (late husband Alvaro) of Assonet & David Amaral (Mary Jane) of Westport; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey Miozza, Sandra Ayotte, Chris & Lisa Ferreira, and Michael Ferreira; 2 great grandsons; several nieces & nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated at St Anthony of Padua Church. He was laid to rest at St Patrick Cemetery.
