Filomena Carvalho, 55, of Fall River, wife of Jose Carvalho, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Country Gardens Skilled Nursing Center in Swansea. Born in St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Jose & Sofia (Da Silva) Cabral, she emigrated to Fall River in 1991, and had worked at Quaker Fabrics for 14 years. Besides her husband, she leaves: 4 children, Andre Abreu, Carla Abreu, Tiago Abreu, & Rita Cabral (husband Berto) all of Fall River; 8 siblings, Alberto Cabral of St. Michael, Azores, Maria Fatima Lindo of Canada, Dalia Cabral of Fall River, Paulo Cabral of Canada, Joao Cabral of Canada, Victor Cabral of Canada, Antonio Silva of St. Michael, Azores, & Pedro Cabral of Canada; 3 grandchildren, Alexander, Maxwell, & Emma; many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Jose Carlos Silva. Her funeral service was held at our Fall River Chapel on Oct. 8, followed by cremation.
