Francelina Elias (Raposa) Medeiros, better known as 'Fannie', age 90, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012, at the Warren Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warren, Rhode Island. She was the widow of Walter Medeiros. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Elias Raposa and the late Mariana (Dias) Raposa. Although she lived in Tiverton for twenty years, she was a Fall River resident for most of her life where she labored at a sewing machine for many years in the garment trade of this city. Francelina was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church on Bedford Street in Fall River. Surviving family members include her son, Walter Rego and wife Theresa of Westport, MA, two sisters, Dorothy Hayes of Fall River and Rose Franco of Toms River, NJ, a grandson, Walter Rego, Jr. and wife Lisa of Las Vegas, NV, two great grandchildren, Travis Rego and Alexander Rego, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was also the grandmother of the late Steven Rego, and a sister of the late Manuel E. Raposa, Mary Souza, Gloria Rego and Leona Souza. Her funeral services were private. She was buried with her dear husband Wally on April 4, 2012, in the family burial lot at Notre Dame Cemetery on Stafford Road in Fall River.
