Obituary

Francis R. Lussier, 85, of Somerset, husband of Germaine J. (Remacle) Lussier, died unexpectedly Monday, August 3rd, 2015, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph R. & Rose (Paquette) Lussier, he was a lifelong resident of Somerset. A member of the Somerset High School Class of 1947, Frank went on to graduate from, and become an active alum and supporter of, Providence College where he excelled in track & field – a New England quarter-mile champion, he was bestowed the college's Mal Brown Outstanding Athlete Award. He attained a Master's Degree in Education from Bridgewater State and was principal of Beckwith Middle School, Rehoboth, for many years. An active parishioner of St. Thomas More Church, Frank served as a Eucharistic minister and often helped with fund-raising events. Besides his wife, of 64 years, he is survived by: 9 children, Christine Fagan (husband James) of Taunton, Brenda Patten (husband Paul) of Somerset, Edward Lussier (wife Allyson) of Hingham, Peter Lussier (wife Debbie) of Swansea, Clare Gosselin (husband Stan) of Rehoboth, Michelle Lussier of California, Philip Lussier of Somerset, Audrey Carr of Somerset, and Thomas Lussier (wife Donna) of California; a brother, Paul Lussier of North Hampton, MA; 24 grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, Daniel, Matthew & James Fagan, Audrey, Jennifer & Thomas Patten, Samantha, Mackenzie & Kyle Lussier, Lauren, Jennifer, Amanda & Rachel Lussier, Max, Sam & Sadie Gosselin, Mia Lussier & Jessica Kilkus Neville, Ryan & Molly Carr, and Thomas Lussier; 9 great grandchildren, Kayli, Colton, Rylie, Aubrielle, Kevin, Eli, Raiden & Rowen Fagan and Rylie Neville; several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late J. Raymond Lussier, and grandfather of the late Kevin Fagan. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 7th, in St. Thomas More Church, Somerset.
