Francis J. Scott, 87, of Somerset, husband of the late Phyllis (Greatrex) Scott, died Monday 6/13/11 at home after an illness. Born in Fall River, son of the late John W. & Bella (Forcier) Scott, he was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII & Korean Conflict, and worked for many years in the local textile industry. Very active in Special Olympics and a member of the Nazareth Bowling League at Holiday Lanes for many years, he was also a Boy Scout Leader for the Nazareth Hall. He leaves: 8 children, Margaret Ann Mendonca & James N. Scott both of Dighton, Loretta J. Trowbridge, John T. Scott & Barbara A. Sanson all of Somerset, Paul J. Scott of Milton, MA, Shirley F. Fortier of New Bedford, and Thomas W. Scott of Taunton; a sister, Mary DesRosiers of Fall River; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Margaret Iamarone. Following his cremation, his Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, July 25, at St Thomas More Church followed by his committal with military honors at Nathan Slade Cemetery.
