Francis A. "Scotty" Thomson, 66, of Tiverton, husband of Julie E. (McDermott) Thomson, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital following a sudden illness. Born in Scotland, son of the late Adam G. Thomson and the late Margaret (Smith) Thomson, he resided in Rhode Island most of his life.

He was employed with Suez Water Environmental Services, Inc., working out of their Newport location, for over twenty years. Scotty was a sports car enthusiast and an avid sports fan. He played soccer in his younger days and later coached a team. He loved fishing and was proud to have once earned first prize in a salmon fishing competition in Ontario. Scotty also loved Julie's exceptional culinary delights.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jared A. Thomson of Tiverton, two nieces and a nephew.
