Francisco "Chico Fernandes" Carvalho, 91, of the Flint, passed away Thursday unexpectedly. Husband of the late Balbina (Oliveira) Carvalho. Born in Remedios Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Joao and Francisca Carvalho. A retired textile worker, he is survived by 6 children, Francisco and Jose Carvalho, Maria Albernaz (husband-Antonio) and Maria Arruda (husband-Jose) all of Fall River, Helena Fernandes (husband - Jorge) of St. Michael, Azores, and Beatriz Tavares (husband - Eduardo) of Florida; 2 sisters, Emelia Albernaz of St. Michael and Laurinda Albernaz of Canada; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was calebrated on Monday, October 29, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
