Francisco F. "Chico" Borges, 70, of Westport, formerly of Fall River for many years, husband of Filomena P. (Pereira) Borges, passed away at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Cinco Ribeiras, Terceira, Azores, the son of the late Jose Machado Borges and the late Rosa Isis de Fatima he emigrated to Fall River in 1982.

He had worked in the local textile industry, at the former Quaker Fabric, then as a baker at Dunkin' Donuts in Middleboro for a number of years, before retiring in 2016. An avid Sporting soccer fan, Francisco enjoyed dancing and gardening, and spending time with his grandson.

Besides his wife, of 41 years, he is survived by: a daughter, Diana Brum (husband Carlos) of Westport; a grandson, Bradey Brum; five nieces/nephews, Victor Bettencourt, Ana Paula Leal, Joana Brasil, Joao Nelson Bettencourt, and Renato Bettencourt; and several cousins and godchildren. He was also the brother of the late Filomena Bettencourt.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in Espirito Santo Church, Alden St, Fall River, on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 9:00 am. Committal Service to follow is private. There is no gathering at the funeral home.
