Franco Silva, 93, of Fall River, husband of the late Almerinda (Cordeiro) Silva, passed away peacefully on Monday. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao and Gloria (Costa) Silva. He worked in the construction industry for many years prior to his retirement. He loved sports, especially soccer, loved his wine, playing cards, dominos, and traveling extensively throughout the world. A truly caring person, he held family and friends close to his heart. He was a gentleman respected by all. He leaves his children: Lucy Freitas (late husband John) and Manuel Silva and wife Mercedes, of Fall River; six grandchildren: Kathy Damaso, Jennifer and Derick Freitas, Richard, Jason, and Manny
DaSilva; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Morgado (late husband Manuel) and Alda Casmiro and husband Liberal, all of Fall River; a brother Jose Luis Silva and wife Isaura of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. Franco was also the father of the late Maria Santa Silva and brother of the late John Silva. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, April 3rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
