Obituary

Frank E. Baker, 78, of Fall River, husband of Dolores (Galhardo) Baker, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, son of the late Rodman & Loretta (Smith) Baker, he was a lifelong resident of Fall River. A retired antique dealer, he was first employed at Harvey Prober, and then was co-owner of Colonial Trading Post for many years. A former Cub Scout leader of Pack #18 at Immaculate Conception Church, Frank was a dedicated family man who especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides his wife of 53 years, survivors include: children, Elaine Almeida, Cindy Strollo and David Baker all of Fall River, Diane Lord of Westport, and Patrick Baker of Orlando, FL; siblings, Joseph Baker of Swansea, Dorothy Bastille, Marion Cordeiro and Patricia Biltcliffe all of Fall River; grandchildren, Carrie Ann Strollo, Kimberly Tavares, Dr. Jason Lord, Frankie Baker, Craig & Erica Almeida and Matthew Freeman; great grandchildren, Steven & Justin Strollo, Samantha Correia and Austin Tavares; many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Rodman, Walter & William Baker, Ruth Rousseau, Rita Lile, Helen DiCorpo & Hazel Barcellos. His Funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Barry Wall on Monday (10/29) in Holy Rosary Church. Committal services followed at St. Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Almeida, Frank Baker, Dr. Jason Lord, Joseph Baker, Dave Thomas and Steven Strollo.
