Frank Sardinha, 87, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday after a long illness. Husband of Mary (Rapoza) Sardinha with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Fall River, son of the late Manuel and Margaret (Costa) Sardinha. A Navy Veteran of WW II, Frank worked as a custodian for the Portsmouth School Dep't. for many years. Beloved father of Katherine M. Cabral (husband-Joseph), Rocky Sardinha (wife-Sandra), Joanne Sardinha and, son-in-law, Kenneth Linhares; brother of Peggy Henault, Jesse Sardinha, Gloria Amaral and the late Mary Branco, Manuel, Henry and Edward Sardinha. 'Pops' also leaves 8 granddchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 4, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by followed his committal with military honors at St. Patrick Cemetery.
