Frederick Mello, 80, of Fall River, passed away Friday unexpectedly. Husband of Yvonne Mello. Born in Fall River, son of the late Antone and Laura Mello. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Fred was a teamsters' truck driver for Hemingway and later for KR Rezendes Construction Co. Beloved father of Donna Lafleur (husband–Joey) and Virginia Thomas; stepfather of Michael Cunha and Edward Almeida; grandfather of Jessica Bowley and Justin Lafleur; great grandfather of Ethan and brother of Suzanne Paiva (husband-David). He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, August 13, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal with military honors at St. Patrick Cemetery.
