Gabriel S. da Silva, 71, of New Bedford, formerly of Fall River, passed away at his home in New Bedbord on Friday, May 11, 2018. He was the husband of Maria L. (Raposo)  da Silva. Mr. da Silva was born in Punta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores and was a son of the late Edmund da Silva and the late Maria Beatriz (Moniz) Travis.  In addition to his wife of fifty years he is survived by his children, Celia Giotis and her husband Angelo of Fall River, Sergio da Silva and his wife Tricia of Naples, Florida, and Louis da Silva and his wife Briana of Boca Raton, Florida and five grandchildren. He was the brother of Lionel Silva, Conceicao DaCosta, and Luisa Raposa. Gabriel was the father of the late Susana da Silva and brother to the late Osvaldo daSilva, Renato daSilva, and Maria Lourdes Machado. Following his cremation, a memorial service was held on Monday, May 21st, during a visitation period in our Fall River Chapel.
