Gabriela Rae Brown, 7 months old, of Fall River, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Boston Children's Hospital. Gabriela was born on September 11, 2020, to parents Justin and Sandra at Woman & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island.  She stayed there for two months before transferring to Boston Children's Hospital due to her complexities.

Gabbie was a fighter. She endured so many challenges in her short time on this earth and had to work hard to accomplish even the little things that come easy to most babies.  She didn't have the chance for many achievements but she made an impression on every person she met. She smiled with her whole face; it was infectious!

She was born with a rare condition called CHEDDA, affecting many areas of the body. Currently there are only 17 known cases in the entire world making her a rare and precious gem. Her second family, referred to as Gabbie's Gang, picked up supporters at every stop and consisted of many nurses, doctors, and other health professionals, as well as a select few others who became like family. She loved bright lights, head rubs, and her motorized swing.

She is missed dearly but is at peace, enjoying all the things she was not able to do here with her family and those who cared about her.

Gabriela is survived by her parents, Justin Brown and Sandra (Cabral) Brown; her loving sister and biggest fan, Amelia Brown; maternal grandparents, Manuel and Estrela Cabral; paternal grandparents, Ronald Brown and Anne-Marie Mello; paternal great-grandparents Arthur and Juliette Lopes and several cousins, aunts, and uncles who adored her.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, April 17th, in Holy Name Church followed by her private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
