Gabriela (Carvalho) Ferreira, 68, of Fall River, wife of Joseph M. Ferreira, passed away peacefully at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 after a long illness. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Vasco and Ernestina (Oliveira) Carvalho. She worked as an inspector in the local textiles for many years prior to her retirement.  A very kind and nurturing woman, she had a love for cooking, hosting, and feeding everyone.  She also enjoyed gardening, going on cruises and traveling, to such places as Bermuda, Las Vagas, New Orleans, the Azores, and California. But most important to Gabriela was being together with her loving family, especially her grandchildren. Besides her husband of forty-eight years, she leaves: her children, Cheryl Rodrigues of Berkley, Phyllis Agustynowicz and her husband David of Assonet, and Kevin Ferreira and his wife Stephanie of Westport; seven grandchildren, Marissa Soares, Alexandria Boyle, Kailyn Ferreira, Nathaniel Agustynowicz, Joshua and Jeremiah Rodrigues, and Jackson Ferreira; her sisters, Manuela Botelho and her husband, Jose, of California, Eduarda Botelho and her husband, Mario, of Florida, Escolastica Pacheco and her husband, Jose Manuel, of Fall River, and Fatima Sousa and her husband, Barreto, of New Bedford; her brothers, Jose "Zeca" Carvalho and his wife, Lena, and Manuel Carvalho and his wife, Suzie, of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, April 13th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
