Gabriela M. Machado, 53, of Fall River, wife of Luis Machado, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends at home on Saturday, July 24, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late José Medeiros and the late Olivia (Pavao) Medeiros, she emigrated to Fall River in 1969 and was a BMC Durfee High School graduate, Class of 1985.

She was assistant head teller at Somerset Federal Credit Union, having worked there for 36 years. A lifelong parishioner of Santo Christo Church, she was active with the Holy Ghost. Gabriela was a member of the Our Lady of Light Band Club and the Sociedade Cultural Açoriana. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, going to the beach, and volunteering, which would include participating in Relay for Life.

Besides her husband, she is survived by: two children, Ashley Machado & partner Corey Procell of Fall River and Matthew Machado & partner Shelby Fontaine of Fall River; two siblings, Milesio Medeiros & partner Jacqueline Young of Fall River and Mary Medeiros & partner Manny Dos Santos of Swansea; godson, Latrell Cote; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, July 29th, in Santo Christo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
