Gabriela Sousa, 66, of Westport, wife of George Sousa, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October, 26, 2025. Born in Santa Barbara, St, Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Dos Santos and the late Georgina (Vultao) Santos.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, laughing, and keeping an immaculately clean home. She also enjoyed shopping, gardening, and traveling to various places including her homeland in the Azores to visit family. Most importantly, Gabriela relished the quality time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides her husband of forty-four years, she leaves her loving children, Janet Sousa and her long-time companion, Kevin Prates, of Dighton, and George Sousa, Jr. of Westport; her grandchildren, Devin Sousa and Kadin Prates; sisters, Vidalia Costa (late husband, Joseph) of Somerset, Teresa Borges and her husband, John, of Westport, and Dora Silva and her husband, Antonio, of Fall River; one brother, John Santos of Fall River; her brother-in-law, Fernando Batista; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Ana I. Batista.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, November 4th, at Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery both in Fall River.
