Genevieve (Oliveira) LaPlante, 89, of Fall River, passed away Sunday at St. Anne's Hospital. Wife of Rene LaPlante. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Manuel and Angela (Matthews) Oliveira, she worked at the former Louis Hand Mfg. Co. for 40 years. Genevieve loved to dance, listen to music and spend time with her family especially her great granddaughter. Beloved mother of Angela Viveiros (husband-Joseph); grandmother of Jennifer Mullen (husband-Liam); great grandmother of Kaitlyn Mullen; sister of Inez Camara and the late Manuel, Frank and Mary Oliveira, Angela Motta, Diane Fortin, Judy Costa, Dina Amaral and Etta Rebello. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 6th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
