Genevieve (Pontiff) Roderigues, 94, widow of Francisco Cordeiro and Manuel Roderigues, and special friend of Fernando Rodrigues, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Facility. She worked in the local textile industry as a supervisor for many years. Mrs. Roderigues was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Pontiff and is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Barboza and her husband Joseph; grandchildren: Joseph Paul Barboza and his wife Lisa and Jeffrey Michael Barboza; great-grandchildren: Candice Lee Barboza, Michael Paul Barboza, and Matthew David Barboza. Genevieve was also the sister of the late Isabel Pacheco, Alice Pontiff, Lydia Oliveira, Albert Ponte, and Manuel Ponte. Following cremation, Her Memorial Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, May 24th, in St. John of God Church, Somerset. Her ashes were buried in the family plot at St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
