George S. Gaspar, 96, formerly of the Highlander Apartments, passed away Wednesday at the Catholic Memorial Home. Husband of the late Louise Gaspar. Born in Fall River, one of 7 children, he was the son of the late Antone and Guilhermina Gaspar. A World War II Army veteran, he was a Purple Heart Recipient. George was an inspector for the Fall River Water Department for many years. Beloved father of Cynthia Paul and Veronica Comeau. He also leaves 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 31, at the Catholic Memorial Home Chapel followed by his committal with military honors and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
