George was also the proud owner of his Wide Glide Harley Davidson.

He is survived by: six children, John Vertentes, Tara Tavares, Shannon Knight and her husband Bryan, Stephanie Vertentes, Jade Souza and Tanya Ramos all of Fall River; six grandchildren, Jaden DaCruz, Keelen Tavares-Cowen, Ava Wunschel, Jonathan Vertentes, Amaya Mendonca and Aubree Mendonca. He was the father of the late George Tavares, Jr.
