Georgelina "Georgi" V. Medeiros, 97, of Swansea, wife of the late Dr. Joseph V. Medeiros, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Edmund Vieira and the late Gertrude (Pascoal) Vieira.

She loved oil painting, refinishing furniture, playing the piano, singing, decorating cakes, and baking for various fundraisers.  She very much enjoyed gardening and was a long-time active member of the Swansea Garden Club. She was also a member of the Swansea Grange, the Seekonk Singers, and the Joyful Sounds. Most notably, Georgelina was a devoted and loyal wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending quality time with all of her family.

She leaves her loving sons, Dr. Joseph V. Medeiros and his wife, Jeanine, and John E. Medeiros and his wife, Ann Marie, both of Somerset; her grandson, Matthew J. Medeiros; and several nieces, Elizabeth Olivier (Vieira), Catherine Silveira, and Christine Vieira-Salters.  She was also the sister of the late Edmund Vieira and aunt of the late Paul Vieira.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 26th, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Swansea followed by her committal and burial alongside her late husband in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fall River.
