Georgina
Raposo
d. Jun 9, 2024
Georgina Raposo, 86, of Fall River, wife of Manuel Raposo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024 in the comforts of her home following a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Francisco Souza and the late Maria (Pacheco) Souza.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a Home Health Aide for many years, a job she very much enjoyed. An avid Red Sox fan, she also loved cooking, crossword puzzles, and shopping. In her younger years, she volunteered and was a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter's Troop. Most notably, Georgina was a devout Catholic and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time with all of her family.
Besides her loving husband of sixty years, she leaves her children, Frank Raposo and his wife, Karen, of Somerset, Robert Raposo and his wife, Missy, Leonard Raposo and his long-time companion, Tracy Harrison, both of Swansea, and Julia Grace and her husband, Richard, of Fall River; her seven grandchildren, Ashley Vongratsamy (Jason), Aaron Raposo, Max Raposo (Danielle), Evie-Lyn Houle (Andrew), Brandon Raposo (Kelly Meza Capcha, M.D.), Jared Hayden, and Connor Grace; four great-grandchildren, Kyden Raposo, Ava Vongratsamy, Cameron Vongratsamy, and Aria Vongratsamy; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Souza, Julio Souza, Maria Cambra, Joseph Souza, and Francisco Souza.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 14th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Georgina's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or the American Cancer Society, Centralized Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701.
