Obituary

Georgina Santos, 91, of Fall River, wife of the late Joao Dos Santos, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Hope Health Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island, following a brief illness. Born in Santa Barbara, St, Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel de Viveiros Vultao and the late Georgina da Conceicao (Maia) Vultao.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, especially biscoitos, crocheting, and singing. A devout Catholic, she faithfully attended Mass and prayed the rosary daily. Most notably, Georgina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time with all of her family.

She leaves her loving children, Vidalia Costa (late husband, Joseph) of Somerset, Gabriela Sousa and her husband, George, and Teresa Borges and her husband, John, both of Westport, Dora Silva and her husband, Antonio, and John Santos, both of Fall River; her grandchildren, Nicole, George, Janet, Scott, Corey, Adam, April, David, and Derek; great-grandchildren, Devin, Tristen, Kadin, Noah, Braxton, and Penelope; her son-in-law, Fernando Batista; and many nieces and nephews. Mother of the late Ana I. Batista and sister of the late Maria, Ines, Lucinda, Mariana, Alice, Jacinto, and Jose.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, March 31st, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at in Notre Dame Cemetery.
