Obituary

Gerald ("Jerry") M. Farias, 76, of Fall River, MA passed away at Catholic Memorial Home on January 3, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. Born in Fall River on July 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Manuel Farias and the late Alfreza (Ferreira) Farias.

Jerry is survived by his twin sister, Geraldine A. Silva of Somerset, MA and cousin Robert Ferreira and wife Betty of Somerset.  He also leaves behind nieces Pamela L. McNulty of Somerset and Kimberly A. Collins of New Bedford; grand-niece Abigail Collins, and grand-nephews William T. McNulty, and A.J. Collins.

A 1962 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Jerry received many certificates of merit as a Class A Welder and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local Union 56, Boston, MA. Prior to his passing, Jerry was an accomplished drummer and played in many local southeastern Massachusetts bands.

The family wishes to recognize the many nurses and aides at the Catholic Memorial Home for their extraordinary efforts in providing Jerry with special loving care for many years.

Due to the COVID pandemic, his funeral arrangements were private.
