Gerald Gomes Lima, best known as Jerry, entered eternal life on Monday, at the age of 74. He goes on to reunite with his much loved mother Laura and father Manuel. His spirit is carried on by his wife Elaine; children, Donna Ayala, Doreen Gendreau, Darlene Hryciw, Dawn, Jerry and Gary Lima and their mother Margaret Lima; sisters, Dorothy Furtado and Viola Ferreira; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His spirit of entrepreneurship and strong work ethics were the backbone of his achievements as owner and operator of several automotive service stations in the community. He was passionate about softball and spent many days and nights with good friends playing the game. He is best remembered by those closest to him as a man with a great capacity for unconditional love and devotion to his family. He is our rock, our mentor, our hero, and so much more. His Funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Jay Maddock on Friday, December 20, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery. To those who attended, thank you for helping us celebrate his life and legacy of love that transcends time and place.
