Germana Tavares, 92, of Fall River, widow of Manuel Tavares, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Almeida and the late Claudina Mello, she emigrated to Fall River in the 1950s.

A self-employed housekeeper for many years prior to her retirement, she had also worked in the local textile industry. An active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua church, she enjoyed helping with the Holy Ghost Feast every year.

She is survived by: two children, Duarte "Eddy" Pacheco of Fall River and Arcilio "Ace" Pacheco of Texas; 8 grandchildren, Sherry, Brian, Nina, Brendan, Stephanie, Angela, Jason, and Mario; 14 great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Angela Macedo.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, October 20th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
