Gertrude Rezendes, 97, formerly of 170 William St., passed away February 14th in Nashua, NH. Born in Swansea, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Rose (Coelho) Silvia. She owned and managed, along with her former husband, Louis, the former Rezendes Farms on Rte 44 in Taunton and went on to become a home health care aide, working with the Taunton Visiting Nurse Assoc. Mrs. Rezendes later worked at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Taunton for several years. Beloved mother of Carol Foisy and Louis Rezendes, Jr.; grandmother of Cathleen Cullen and Jennifer Tashjian; great grandmother of Delaney Cullen, Cole, Lynsey and Georgia Tashjian; sister of Edward Silvia, Florence Zagaja and the late Manuel, Marion, Tony and Thomas Silvia, Mildred Rebello and Mary Roderick. Following her cremation, a Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 4, in St. Patrick's Church, Somerset. Her cremains were interred in her family lot at St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
