Gil Martins, 84, of Fall River, husband of Gizelia (Bonanca) Martins, passed away peacefully at the Catholic Memorial Home on Monday, September 30, 2019. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Gil and Evangelina Martins. He was a machine operator for a silver processing company for many years prior to his retirement. An avid FC Porto fan, he also loved fishing and cooking. As a hard worker, Gil instilled the importance of high standards and values into his family. Besides his wife of sixty years, he leaves: his son, Gil Martin and his wife, Laurie, of South Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Cory Martin, Christopher Martin, and Ethan Martin; two great-grandchildren, Landon Martin and Alaena Martin; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manual Martin. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 5th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
