Gilbert Manuel Cabral Vieira, 73, of Fall River, fiancé of Maria Fatima Cabral, passed away at St. Anne's Hospital on Thursday, April 29, 2021 after an illness. Born in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Bento Cabral Vieira and the late Maria (Cabral) Cabral Rodrigues

He served in the Portuguese military and worked for a time as a bus driver before emigrating to Fall River in 1974 and becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1974. Prior to his retiring, he had worked for many years building boats with Pearson Yacht. Gilberto loved to cook and was a devout Catholic.

Besides his fiancée, he is survived by: four children, Marco Paul Vieira and Gualter Vieira both of Portugal, Paula Margaret Fuller of Virginia, and David Vieira of New Bedford; two siblings, Almorinda Araujo of the Azores and Cidalia Cabral of Taunton, MA; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Ida Medeiros and Carlos Cabral.

His Private Funeral was held on Monday, May 3rd, with a service in our Fall River Chapel followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
