Gilda S. Andrade, 95, widow of Carlos D. Andrade, of Westport, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Hathaway Manor. Born in Westport, she was a daughter of the late Antonio J. Souza and the late Margarida (Tavares) Souza.

Prior to her retirement in 1989, she had worked for many years in the local garment industry, and was a member of the International Ladies garment Workers Union (I.L.G.W.U. now called UNITE). She enjoyed animals, gardening & travelling.

She is survived by a brother, Antonio Souza (wife Elsie) of New Jersey, and was predeceased by several siblings. She also leaves nieces and nephews, Richard Rodrigues, Susan Rodrigues, Linda Nickolson, Ruth A. Joyner, Deborah Howe, Donna Derrick, and Antonio M. Andrade; and was aunt of the late Robert Souza.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, November 19th, in St. George Church, Westport, followed by her committal at Beech Grove Cemetery also in Westport.
