Gilda S. Rodrigues, 92, of Fall River, widow of Manuel M. Rodrigues, passed away at home surrounded by her children on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Born in Ribeira Seca, Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Sousa and the late Jacinta (Correira) Sousa, she emigrated to Fall River in 1969.

She was employed in the local textile industry, at the former Whaling Mfg., for many years, retiring in 1993. A member of Espirito Santo Church's Holy Rosary Society, Gilda enjoyed being home crocheting, praying, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren (whom she lived for).

She is survived by: three children, Goretti Silva (husband Joseph) of Swansea, Ida M. Alves (husband Paul) of Fall River, and Ana Bonanca of Fall River; two siblings, Dinis Sousa of Terceira, Azores, and Maria do Rosario Anselmo of Canada; four grandchildren, Kimberly Silva, Tanya Evans (husband Joel), Kevin Silva (wife Stephanie), and Amanda Bonanca; four great grandchildren, Benjamin, Mackenzie, Avery, and Saxon; and several nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Jose Sousa.

Gilda's Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, September 2nd, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
