Gilda Torres, 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from injuries sustained in a fall. Gilda was born on October 28, 1951 in Sao Vicente, Sao Miguel, Acores to the late Manuel Rego Torres and the late Maria Conceicao (Viveiros) Torres. She emigrated to Fall River in 1959, and worked at Fall River Knitting Mills and Yomega Corporation before retiring in 1992.

Gilda was die hard Red Sox and Patriots fan, an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering annually for the Greater Fall River Relay For Life. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, and spending time with her many nephews and nieces.

She is survived by sisters Mary Torres (late Leonel Torres), Esmeralda Torres (Fernando Machado), and Rose Ferreira, brothers, John Torres (Lucy Torres), David Torres (Stephanie Torres), Joseph Torres, and Louis Torres (Maria Torres).

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 10th, in Holy Name Church followed by her committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
