Gladys Marie Macomber, 85, of Somerset, formerly of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Born in Gypsum, Kansas, a daughter of the late Solomon Frank Holcom and the late Nellie Wilma (Hales) Holcom, she moved to Fall River in 2004, having also resided in Florida for a time.

A retail salesclerk for a number of years, in Kansas at a school specialty supply store and at a Best Buy in Florida, Gladys had also owned her own janitorial business in Kansas providing housekeeping services for doctors and at a hospital. An avid reader, Gladys also enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, and gardening.

She is survived by: four children, Deborah Viveiros of Fall River, Tonya McConnell of Topeka, Kansas, Russell E. Macomber (husband Kevin Haertling) of Orlando, Florida, and Victoria Lynn Macomber of Sanford, Florida; a sister, Jean Stanton of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Renee, Shawn, Christian, Niko, Anthony, and Michael; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Gladys was also a sister of the late Hannah Grill, Teddie Holcom, and Mildred Tharp.

Her cremation arrangements were private. A Committal Service and interment of her cremains will take place at her family's cemetery plot in Salina, Kansas, at some time in the future.
