Obituary

Gloria (Neery) Ackley, 91, of Somerset, wife of the late George Ackley, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Anne's Hospital on July 29, 2020.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hamod) Neery.

Gloria was a long-time parishioner of St. Anthony of the Desert Church and member of The Blessed Mother's Woman's Guild and The Lebanese American Society Ladies Guild. An avid card player, she very much enjoyed the weekly card games with her group of friends. But most important to Gloria was spending quality time with her loving family.

She is survived by: her son, George Ackley and his wife, Joanne, of Somerset, and her daughter, Joanne Audet, and her husband, Alan, of Swansea; granddaughters, Ashley Levesque and Alexandra Levesque; grandsons, Keith Fairhurst and his wife, Megan, and William Fairhurst; great-granddaughter, Karson Fairhurst; and several nieces and nephews, including Donna Reid, James William, and Ernest William. She was also the sister of the late Dorothy William.

Due to the pandemic, Gloria's Funeral Mass was celebrated privately on Monday, August 3rd, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by her committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. Being unable to do so, because of this pandemic, all are urged to express sympathy online or by mail.

To ensure that said condolences reach the family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website ( www.silvafaria.com ) and not through a third party. Thank you!
