Gloria Panell, 89, widow of Cleveland M. Panell, of Fall River, died Thursday 2/20/14 at Crawford Nursing Home after a long illness. Daughter of the late Francisco & Mary (Trombino) Macri, she was born in, and a lifelong resident of, Fall River. A seamstress in the local garment industry for 39 years, retiring in 1986, she was a member of ILGWU (now UNITE). An active parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, she was a member of its Ladies Guild and often helped with its Catholic Charities Appeal. She was also a member of the Sons of Italy. Known for her culinary skills, she loved cooking for her family. She leaves: 2 sons, Michael Panell (wife Blanche) of Tiverton RI and Richard Panell (wife Janet) of Somerset; 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Timothy, Derek & Andrea Panell; 5 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews. Sister of the late Vera Tacovelli, Theresa Lundstrum, Helen Griffin, Pat, Louis, Frank, John & Joseph Macri. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 28, in Holy Rosary Church followed by her committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
